We’ve all felt like prisoners to our devices at some point. Me, almost daily! Whether it’s mindlessly scrolling or getting distracted by constant notifications, it can feel like our phones have control over us. The first step in regaining freedom is acknowledging the power these devices have and setting boundaries. Guardrails, if you will. Start by scheduling “phone-free” times throughout your day—such as during meals or before bed—and slowly reclaim your time and attention. Consider putting your phone out of reach when working on important tasks to resist the temptation to check it. Trying using DND or Airplane mode. By creating a sense of physical distance from your device, you allow your mind the space to focus on what truly matters. And you get to decide what that is for your life.
